5 Ways to Make Podcasting Easier (and feel confident doing it!)
Podcasting is one sure-fire way your dream clients will see you as an expert.
Having a well-produced, well-thought-out, and well-targeted podcast will extend your audience reach, position your brand as an authority, and get you working with more oh-so-dreamy clients.
So, what’s holding you back?
I get it, I get it. Podcasting is a lot of work! It can definitely seem intimidating. And no matter how good your intentions of starting one are, this fear can send your podcast straight to the back-burner!
Let’s cut the fluff and make things a bit more simple.
Here are 5 ways to make podcasting easier
They’ll make the prospect of kicking off your poddy less daunting and give you the confidence you need to get it off the ground!
1. Talk about stuff you’re passionate about
Isn’t it so much easier to talk about the stuff you care about?
When prepping these first few episodes, focus the content on the stuff that REALLY revs you up.
You’re already an expert at what you do. You know your stuff. So make a list of the stuff you know (even if it seems easy to you) that’ll provide value to your dream clients, and get started with those topics.
2. Map out your episodes
Create a structure template that you can use for each and every episode.
This step is often missed, but I swear by it.
It’ll give you clarity on where each episode is headed, and how much content you actually need to prepare.
Then script or bullet point the content so you feel prepared and aren’t going in blind.
Trust me, once you’ve got your structure sussed, the rest will come so much easier!

3. Set aside time to podcast
Schedule prep time into your diary so you’re not tempted to keep procrastinating.
You’ve now got a list of topics you’re passionate about, and a structure template that’ll make your life a hang of a lot easier.
Now you just need time set aside to get yourself immersed in the world of your podcast!
You’ll be surprised at how easy it is once you get going.
4. Batch record
Again, book yourself in for a day of batch recording.
If time is what’s preventing you from getting going on your poddy, this is certainly one way to make sure you get stuff done.
Batch recording is beneficial for a bunch of reasons:
it saves you time
It gives you a bunch of recordings you can use at a later date if you need them
And it’ll warm your voice and make your voice over sound even better!
If batch recording isn’t your jam, make sure you set aside time every week/fortnight/month (depending on how often your podcast airs) to get it done.
5. Outsource the edit
If editing is what’s really freaking you out, you’ve got two options.
Option a) learn how to Edit Like an Expert.
Option b) outsource that shit!
If you’ve got the grit, the interest, and the willingness to learn how to do your own edit, by all means, DO IT!
Personally, I reckon editing is so much fun, and you’ll get a lot of pride out of knowing you DIYed your entire poddy.
In my Edit Like an Expert course, I teach you how to edit a full episode from start to finish with confidence. It’s super easy step-by-step, for even the most technically challenged to learn.
But if that’s really not sparking you up, you don’t have the time to learn and execute the edit, and you have the budget to outsource – this is probably a good idea!
Hiring a competent podcast editor (oh hey!) will save you time and hassle, and will make your podcast sound super high-quality from the get-go.
